Job Summary/Overview

The applications engineer is responsible for quoting engineering projects, developing proposals/quotes, and supporting sales team with specialized technical knowledge to ensure customer satisfaction by providing timely, professional, and technical service, as well as assistance and guidance in conveyance applications.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

    • Address technical questions from clients that cannot be resolved with the support of standard manuals.
    • Define the product family that best suits the client's requirements.
    • Identify the reason why a customer cannot perform a standard configuration and suggest options.
    • Send quotes for special applications following standard procedures and formats for them.
    • If required, create 2D drawings or sketches to help define the quoted solution.
    • Work with the applications engineering department located in the US to quote projects that require complex solutions.
    • If required, support the sales department in virtual meetings with clients that require more in-depth technical knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service/sales
  • Advanced knowledge of Standard Dorner Products
  • Advanced knowledge of Dorner Engineering Manuals
  • Proficient knowledge in automation
  • Proficient knowledge in installation in industrial environments
  • Basic knowledge of 2D CAD such as AutoCAD / DraftSight
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office
  • Proficient knowledge in CRM & ERP systems
