Service Engineer

Job Summary/Overview

Front line support in fulfilling customer requirements as required, including inspection, repair and maintenance of various types of cranes, hoists, and control panels. Installation and commissioning, planned maintenance and general lifting equipment, as directed by the Service Co-Ordinator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for meeting daily service and repair needs of lifting equipment, crane, height safety and other relevant products/equipment and driving customer satisfaction

Document all inspections, maintenance and service repair work and supply/submit paperwork on a weekly basis

Maintain clear and concise business communication proficiency, oral and written.

Ensure that the Service Vehicle, tools, equipment and stock are inspected and maintained.

Comply with and ensure compliance with all statutory, legislative and Company health and safety, Environmental and operative standards, policies and practices.

Assist with any appropriate workload at the Newtownabbey location as required.

Any other reasonable duties in line with the grade of the post.

Will be required to work alone and as part of a team at times, travel to remote locations across Northern Ireland and possibly Southern Ireland.

Overtime and work other than Monday-Friday may occassionally at times, be required.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

Good standard of education (5 GCSE's Passed including Maths and English)

Time served apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred

Other applicable qualifications will be considered including City & Guilds, Diploma, LEEA

Previous experience in a similar role required

Experience of manual handling, confined spaces, height safety, forklift truck, risk assessing, MEWP licence preferred

Experience in mobile gantry and overhead cranes preferred

Confident use of Microsoft applications essential

Confident communicator

Safety mindset essential

Strong organisation and priority management skills
