Job Summary/Overview
This role is responsible for various roles including the assembly, testing, painting, machining of parts, and general stocking duties as well as general maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform bench operations such as filing, cutting, chipping, deburring, drilling, tapping, and reaming.
· Perform a variety of mechanical and electrical assembly operations to assemble small and medium-sized products. Operations may involve wire cutting, splicing, soldering, crimping, or like operations.
· Move materials by hand, hand truck, or overhead lifting devices when pertaining to own work to any location in the facility as designated by the supervisor.
· Paint - sprays surfaces of machines, manufactured products, or working area with protective or decorative material, such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer, using a spray gun.
· Perform some manual machining.
· Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
· Performs other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities
- Must be able to work from assembly blueprints and electrical diagrams.
- Must be capable of using all types of hand and power-driven tools.
- Must be able to operate a variety of machines such as drill press, hydraulic press, and pedestal grinder.
- Must be able to make minor adjustments to parts.
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as rulers, scales, square, tape, volt and ammeter, etc.
- Skilled in interpreting blueprints and schematics.
- Skilled in the assembly of machined parts.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as needed.
- Required to produce quality parts
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions, and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
· 2+ years of related experience and/or training.
· An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
