Job Summary/Overview

The Electrical Engineering Intern works together with the Development Engineering team on activities related to the design of new products and the improvement of existing products. This may include building prototypes and test fixtures, along with testing and troubleshooting electronics and embedded firmware. The intern may also assist with developing component libraries for PCB design tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the day-to-day activities of the development engineering team.
  • Assist with verification and validation tests on both electronics and embedded firmware, including the development of complete and accurate test reports.
  • Create new library components for the Altium PCB design software – schematic symbols, PCB footprints, etc.
  • Follow all safety and work rules and regulations; maintain department housekeeping standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • Understanding of basic electrical circuits and analysis.
  • Experience using laboratory instruments (meter, oscilloscope, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate clearly, logically, accurately, and effectively in written or verbal form.
  • Experience with Altium Designer PCB development software (preferred).

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
  • Applicants must have authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • Able to work full time (40 hours) from December 16, 2024 to January 17, 2025
