Job Summary/Overview
To support ongoing success, the organisation is looking to appoint an entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to work as a key member of the UK & Ireland Sales Team, reporting to the Senior Sales Manager, UK.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Full sales cycle knowledge – providing qualitative support/after-sales care to existing clients with respect to product/technical assistance, discount/pricing guidance, after-sales support, warranty/Q.A./on-site support, providing solutions to customer’s requirements efficiently
- Proactively seeking sales growth opportunities, develop lasting customer relationships and managing key accounts constructively to realise expected turnover/profitability
- Consulting with customer base and conducting research into new products and competitor’s activities/performance
- Producing reports accurately from the field integrating statistical data, phrasing and tools (use of Salesforce, customer acquisition evaluation tool, gap analysis, etc) to support your findings
- Attending customers on-site with their technical enquiries with product and/or potential warranty/damage/return claims
- Contributing both to sales and marketing strategy and on any optimisation initiatives utilising your industry knowledge and experience
- Representing the organisation as required at internal/external business meetings, exhibitions, etc as required with occasional requirement for both domestic/international travel
- Adherence to all legal requirements, Company policies, practices, H & S policy and procedures with clean driving licence and willingness to travel
- Other ad-hoc duties commensurate with the scope of the role
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities
Successful candidates should demonstrate the following:
- Lifting industry/Engineering/Sales background
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven technical sales experience
- Strong business, technical and industry knowledge and awareness
- Relevant sales or business qualification desirable
- Confident user of M/S 365 apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
- Salesforce and SAP proficiency advantageous
- Standard education with strong maths and English language ability in written and spoken form
- Data-driven, process-driven and solutions-focussed
- Shows confidence, courage and ambition to grow the business
- Uses CRM and intelligent marketing analysis to plan/strategize
- Takes enormous pride in the business, in their work and in understanding his/her ‘customers’
- Roll up the sleeves team-player, willing to stretch their duties when needed to win as a team
- Willingness to continue to train, to learn, to grow
- Some variation in hours and some occasional unsociable hours
