2nd Shift Powder Coat System Operator/Wet Painter

Job Summary/Overview

Requires the painting/staging and unloading of castings and forgings for the assembly areas. This position will either be painting or loading and unloading parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs all work in a manner that conforms to safety and environmental policies of the Company.
  • Perform all inspections per work instructions.
  • Review schedules and Kanban’s for priority of product to be painted.
  • Load parts on racks per work instructions.
  • Remove parts after painting, put them in designated storage locations.
  • Drive stands up forklift as required to move pallets of material.
  • Operate the powder coat system and/or wet paint booth as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as required on booths and paint guns.
  • This classification requires team members to rotate into all areas of the classification on a regular basis, and to assist or perform training of other personnel of the job duties.
  • Performs other duties conducive to assuring optimum productivity within the Plant as the need arises, and other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience and/or training is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain a forklift license is required.
  • Position is required to wear protective suits in the paint booths.
  • Must be able to obtain Respirator Medical Clearance.
  • Ability to lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. safely.
