Job Summary/Overview

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Business Development leader to join the CMCO Team. The Business Development Director will be responsible for sales strategy for accumulation and pharmacy conveyance systems (target customers and end markets, value proposition, leading sales efforts, forecasting revenue, setting pricing) all to develop new business, increase market share and new accounts in new markets.

Market Applications:

Manufacturing facilities requiring maximized line efficiency to increase throughput, reduce bottlenecks, and save floor space are an ideal fit for Garvey accumulation products. Solutions provided have increased throughput by up to 30%.  There are numerous ways products can be conveyed, accumulated, orientated, combined, single filed and laned without back pressure or operator interference creating a competitive advantage for our customers.  Applications can range from one accumulation table to many and includes odd shaped or hard to handle products.

Garvey solves two major challenges facing pharmaceutical customers.  The first is an innovative tray loader that automatically loads vials into trays at over 1000 vials per minute.  The second is a vial dryer that in a mere 5 minutes dries vials compared to 48 hours of other products on the market.  This includes vials directly out of the cold chain and products of all sizes. Garvey has broad product solutions beyond further support our customers including unique technologies to meet the most demanding applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contributes and supports go to market business plan for product offering within accumulation and pharmacy products.
  • Builds market brand and position by locating, developing, and closing business at high profile accounts.
  • Manages business by tracking leads, quotes, orders and field sales activities.
  • Leads sales force on key end markets, customers, and applications.
  • Identifies sales targets based on industry knowledge and experience.
  • Research industry and related events, publications, and announcements.
  • Market/Consult to End Users to get specified into projects.
  • Examines risks and potential gaps for the core business.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Enhances organization’s reputation and value by accepting ownership of Garvey offering and market position.
  • Attend conferences and industry events to be viewed as an industry expert.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

Required Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • 10+ years industry experience
  • At least 5 years of successful business development experience in Industrial Manufacturing and food/beverage, preferably related Automation, Process Control, or ideally mechanical assembly– with a solid understanding of products needed.
  • Understands the US market and where to seek new business for offering.
  • Consultative sales approach to problem solving.
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and follow through in developing business.
  • High level of self-driven decision-making abilities guided by set business targets.
  • Technical / business degree or equivalent experience
  • Complex system selling / value selling.
  • Excellent communication & presentation Skills across all levels of a customer organization
  • Travel: 30%-40%

  • Knowledge in growth opportunities, variety of industries, and technologies
  • Strong network in US markets and industry
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering or Industrial Engineering preferred.
