Job Summary/Overview
This assignment is for a mechanical or industrial engineer in a manufacturing role. The assignment is for a minimum of one semester and summer (part-time interns will also be considered). It supports several business needs: Continuous improvement in manufacturing operations including safety, cost quality and delivery; Increased manufacturing capacity and flexibility to support production surge requirements; Launch of components for new model requirements; Problem solving of daily production and equipment issues; Development of future manufacturing engineering resource.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Revising and updating standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Creating new process documentation, time studies, and work standards
- Drafting cell layout
- Assists with mechanical design improvements for assembly and machining processes utilizing CAD software.
- Conducting machine capability studies
- Testing of process and tooling changes
- Assist operators in identifying and resolving process issues
- Investigating and resolving quality issues
- Collecting quality and process data
- Completing ergonomic assessments
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities
- A team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible and adjust priories to reflect changing needs or job demands.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis preferred
- Exposure to AutoCAD / SolidWorks preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Required Qualifications
- A junior or senior college student pursuing a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Degree
- Two years of mechanical or industrial engineering education
- GPA 2.8 or higher preferred
