Job Summary/Overview

As a Quality Technician at Dorner, you will be responsible for performing incoming inspections, creating DMRs, processing RMAs, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements. You will assist co-workers with inspection equipment, calibrate gauges, and conduct internal audits as part of the internal audit team. Your role is crucial in maintaining the quality and reliability of our products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure they meet established quality standards.
  • Identify and report any defects or non-conformities to the production team and assist in troubleshooting and corrective actions.
  • Assist co-workers in the proper use of various inspection equipment, maintain gauges, assist with calibration activities, and process RMA as needed.
  • Perform internal audits as a member of the internal audit team.
  • Maintain proper documentation according to Dorner’s ISO procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, and machining.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance procedures and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and MS Office Suite.
  • ERP Experience preferred (Epicor)

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in Quality Assurance is a plus.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Basic GD&T knowledge
  • FARO CMM and/or Keyence CMM experience preferred
  • Ability to lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. safely.
