Saw Operator, 2nd shift

Job Summary/Overview

This Position operates the saw to create customized parts within tolerance of prints. 

Work Schedule

Monday - Thursday 

2:00pm - 12:30am

2nd shift off on Fridays

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews and organizes work orders.
  • Set up measurements on the saw.
  • Supplies the bar feeder with appropriate material.
  • Runs and operates the saw.
  • Deburrs finished parts using deburring wheel or other hand tools if necessary.
  • Perform quality checks and measure finished parts using hand measurement tools, (micrometers, calipers, plug gauges & profilometers) to determine if they are within tolerance. 
  • Logs date and other details of job on work order.
  • Communicate material needs to the lead and production planners.
  • Performs basic PM’s and 5S in area.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and solid blueprint reading skills.
  • Ability to think abstractly to deal with ambiguous/undefined problems.
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust priories to reflect changing needs or job demands.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

  • Machine operating background preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. safely.

Compensation

$18 - 22/hour

Additional $2/hour 2nd shift premium
