Job Summary/Overview
This position will act as the Lead for the shipping and receiving departments to ensure daily objectives are met, issues are troubleshot, reviewed, and resolved.
Work Schedule
6:00am - 2:30pm
Monday - Friday
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates transportation of freight including both Dorner and Customer routed freight. This will include parcel, LTL, FTL, air and ocean transportation.
- Communicates with internal and external customers regarding shipment status, freight quotations, documentation, methods and issues.
- Identifies and fixes shipping errors.
- Assists in developing and improving standardized work within the shipping and receiving departments as well as improving safety, quality and delivery.
- Supports collaboration between departments to solve problems and seek solutions.
- Work alongside Shipping Manager and individual cells to improve upon pack out accuracy.
- Work in a safe manner to keep you and your team incident free.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of basic modes of transportation including parcel, LTL, FTL, air and ocean. This will include knowledge of shipping documentation including bill of ladings, packing lists, shipper’s letter of instructions, and certificates of origin.
- A team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to think abstractly to deal with ambiguous/undefined problems.
- Ability to be flexible and adjust priories to reflect changing needs or job demands.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills.
Required Qualifications
- Lead and/or supervisorial experience preferred.
- Ability to lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. Safely.
- Sit down forklift certified and/or willing to obtain. Stand up forklift certification preferred.
