Job Summary/Overview

To prepare picking lists, all shipping documents and ship confirm orders.   Contact freight carriers for the timely pick-up of orders to ensure on time delivery to customers.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process picking lists and route to shipping personnel in a timely manner.
  • Verify accuracy of picking list and confirm shipment in CMBIS.
  • Investigate any discrepancies on picking lists and bill of ladings for customer service.
  • Act as a liaison between shipping and sales departments and other CM locations and shipping.
  • Contact freight carriers for pickups and special quotes.
  • Prepare and maintain bill of ladings and shipping manifests along with rating of freights bills.
  • Prepare manifest for electronic transmission.
  • Ability to prepare and print labels and RFID tags.
  • Ability to fill in as and lead Production/Shipping leader and Shipper stocker job duties. (refer to both job descriptions)
  • Prepare export papers.
  • Prepare Country of Origin documentation.
  • Route freight carriers.
  • Prepare any shipping documents as requested by customer.
  • Verify accuracy of interplant transfers and confirm in CMBIS.
  • Performs other duties as required or requested

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety policies and procedures.  Ability to speak effectively with fellow employees, giving instructions or relaying messages.  Ability to complete all applicable paperwork.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers.
  • Ability to understand and follow written procedures.
  • Ability to understand and manipulate data using Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. safely.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate, GED or equivalent experience required. 
  • Basic computer skills are required.
