Job Summary/Overview

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Test Engineering functions to support safe, efficient, and capable manufacturing operations at the Operations facility. This role provides technical and people leadership to ensure manufacturing processes, equipment, facilities, and test systems are robust, reliable, and continuously improving to meet business objectives.

This leader is accountable for driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost through effective process design, preventive maintenance, capital investment, and disciplined execution of standard work. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager partners closely with Operations, Quality, Materials, and Engineering to support current production and new product introductions, while developing people and building sustainable technical capability aligned with the Columbus McKinnon Business System (CMBS).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Test Engineering teams.
  • Own manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and test systems.
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs for equipment, facilities, and grounds.
  • Identify, justify, and execute capital equipment and facilities projects.
  • Drive cost reduction through process improvement, automation, and waste elimination.
  • Support New Product Introduction and Engineering Change Order implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, ISO 9001, and CMBS requirements.
  • Develop people through coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Partner cross-functionally to achieve plant performance targets.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • Leadership of multi-disciplinary technical teams.
  • Strong manufacturing, maintenance, and test engineering knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented.
  • Capital project management experience.
  • Data-driven problem solving and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Effective communicator within environments ranging from shop floor kaizen teams to operations leadership stakeholder groups, to business group staff, and senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • 7+ years of manufacturing/engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience preferred.
