Job Summary/Overview

The Mechanical Assembler, Brakes performs all aspects of assembling our Brake product line including the review of shop orders, pulling the correct parts and materials, assembly of the parts and winding of coils to meet customer orders, in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review work orders to plan the most efficient method of production to minimize changeovers and maximize raw materials.
  • Assemble and wire mechanical parts per work orders to produce the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards and customer specifications and delivery requirements.
  • Complete and verify product checklists for all completed orders.
  • Clean, paint, and package finished goods to prepare for shipping.
  • Use manual and automated coil winders and coil potting equipment.
  • Ability to solder wires during the coil winding process.
  • Complete quality inspections for co-workers as required.
  • Identify and correct part shortages. Build shop floor packets and labels.
  • Perform daily cycle count activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • Requires the ability to operate a wide variety of small hand, power tools, and wire cutters.
  • Requires the ability to operate a computer and its job-related software.
  • Requires the ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.  
  • Requires the ability to meet our lifting requirement of no more than 40 lbs.

Required Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one to three years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
