Job Summary/Overview

The Mechanical Designer provides engineering support to the application of special and standard products.  This position organizes the documents and details from orders, creates drawings, and requisitions parts to ensure the timely and accurate manufacturing of the product. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and detail parts and assemblies for products/systems using computer-aided design (CAD).
  • Record data and document aspects of Engineered Special Products including maintaining the order data by following the established process.
  • Coordinate project details with internal teams.
  • Assist with factory acceptance tests and final equipment runoffs.
  • Support the manufacturing and assembly process.
  • Provide proposal drawings and approval drawings.
  • Propose projects that improve, augment, reduce costs or in other ways modify standard product lines.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and approach tasks with a sense of urgency.
  • Attention to detail.  Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all areas involved.
  • Ability to build relationships with a diverse workforce with a highly developed sense of understanding.
  • Displays strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Demonstrates product knowledge obtained through experiential hands-on training.   
  • Experience with SolidWorks, CAD and Enterprise Resource planning systems

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or 2+ years of design experience.
  • 2+ years related experience a plus.
