Job Summary/Overview

Qualified and experienced Lifting Machinery Inspector to join the Lifting Stores team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically driven

professional who is passionate about lifting equipment, inspections, services support,

quality assurance, and innovation.

The employee will play a key role in the inspection, testing, certification,

repair, commissioning, and quality control of lifting machinery and lifting tackle, while also

contributing to services support, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct statutory inspections and certification of lifting machinery and lifting tackle.

Perform proof load testing, commissioning, and acceptance testing.

Diagnose and repair cranes, hoists, winches, jacks, and associated lifting equipment.

Prepare inspection reports, certificates, and compliance documentation.

Participate in digital inspection, mobile application, and IoT development initiatives.

Provide technical support and guidance to customers.

Ensure compliance with OHSA, relevant SANS standards, and company procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

Lifting machinery and lifting tackle inspections

Load testing and certification

Quality assurance and quality control

Technical report writing

Root cause analysis

Digital inspection systems and technology applications

LMI Scopes (Minimum Requirement)

Lifting Tackle

Chain Hoists & Lever Hoists

Overhead Cranes

Safety-conscious and quality-focused

Highly professional with strong integrity

Detail-oriented and organized

A practical problem solver

Customer-focused with strong communication skills

Self-motivated and able to work independently or within a teamwork environment

Required Qualifications

Grade 12 (Matric)

Registered Lifting Machinery Inspector (LMI)

Lifting Tackle Inspection Certificate

Minimum 5 years' practical experience in the lifting industry

Valid Driver's Licence (Code B/EB)

LEEASA Membership
