Job Summary/Overview

 

Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Generalist will serve as the primary Human Resources contact for employees and leaders in Brazil. This role is responsible for supporting day to day HR operations, employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, payroll coordination, and compliance with local labor regulations. The HR Generalist will work closely with employees, managers, and regional HR leadership to ensure the consistent implementation of corporate HR policies, programs, and processes. This position plays a key role in supporting employee engagement, maintaining accurate HR records, promoting a positive work environment, and helping attract, develop, and retain top talent within the Brazil organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers in Brazil, providing guidance and support on HR policies, procedures, and employee related matters.
  • Support the implementation and consistent application of corporate HR programs, initiatives, and policies while ensuring compliance with Brazilian labor legislation.
  • Coordinate the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee development, performance management, promotions, and offboarding activities.
  • Partner with leaders to support talent management processes, including performance reviews, goal setting, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Manage employee relations matters by facilitating communication between employees and management, conducting investigations, and supporting conflict resolution efforts.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR data is updated and properly managed within HRIS systems.
  • Coordinate Payroll related activities and validate information submitted to external payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Support labor relations activities, including communication and collaboration with unions when required.
  • Prepare and process HR related invoices and other administrative documentation.
  • Assist in the identification, coordination, and delivery of training and development programs that support business and employee needs.
  • Generate HR reports and maintain personnel documentation while ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
  • Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
  • Serve as a CARE Program Ambassador, promoting employee well being initiatives, encouraging participation, supporting program activities.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • Advanced in office applications and software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with spreadsheets and data analysis.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal and employee relations skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a similar Human Resources role.
  • Experience managing employee relations matters and labor law compliance in Brazil.
  • Union relations experience preferred.
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in English and/or Spanish is strongly preferred.
