Job Summary/Overview
The Technical Sales Support Manager plays a crucial role in providing high-quality technical customer advice and service while ensuring successful order placement, management, and fulfillment. This role involves liaising effectively between internal and external stakeholders to maintain and grow a pipeline of satisfied customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support internal sales and engineering teams with technical advice and guidance.
- Assist customers with the technical requirements of proposed solutions, ensuring clarity and competence.
- Prepare quotations for customers for Stahl and/or Magnetek products/solutions, including custom offerings.
- Collaborate with Offer Management for specialized proposals.
- Work closely with Factory Product Specialists to refine technical solutions.
- Manage customer documentation via the marketing portal.
- Address quality issues and complaints, ensuring resolution through internal coordination.
- Develop training materials and provide technical training to sales teams and customers.
- Continuously enhance knowledge of products, services, and market trends.
- Travel nationally/internationally as required (~5% of the time).
- Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties relevant to the role.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities
- Expertise in mechanical/electrical engineering or manufacturing.
- Strong technical competence with the ability to assess and guide customer solutions.
- Excellent customer service, research, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Windows applications.
- Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation abilities.
- Flexibility and adaptability to market and organizational changes.
- Ability to work additional or unsociable hours when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or the technical industry.
- Hands-on experience in technical sales support and account management.
- SAP experience preferred for effective operations and order processing.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-centric approach.
