Job Summary/Overview

Location : Chennai, India

 

The Mechanical Design Engineer (Order Engineer) plays a key role supporting the order engineering team in Germany. The main tasks are deriving 2D drawings with existing 3D models, creating design variants, creating product drawings and crane girders. Special tasks are also possible. The Mechanical Design Engineer has close collaboration with a dedicated technical engineer. The main goal is to meet the design deadlines while maintaining a high quality of work. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Independent recognition of priorities and corresponding processing of customers order confirmations.
  • Design 2D drawings and 3D models in Mechanical CAD (Siemens NX), that are aligned to the internal specifications, performance requirements and safety standards.
  • Ensuring needs-based communication in unclear situations
  • Report spent hours in SAP and Jira ticket system to ensure data quality
  • Create bills of material for products and enters product data into the manufacturing systems.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • Experience with Product Design using Parametric CAD Software (Siemens NX) and Siemens Teamcenter PLM (Product Lifecycle Management).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where creativity, cooperation, and communication are key.
  • Ability to keep track and organize work from multiple jobs at once, keeping deadlines.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • Able to work within a global team in a remote working environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset. Result-driven. Quality-driven.
  • Proven successful work in a multicultural environment.
  • Maintains a collaborative attitude with peers and colleagues to effectively contribute to the group’s achievement of goals and to help foster a positive work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skill in English (Advanced)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical)
  • Experience in a similar role are welcome
  • Bilingual – English
  • Experience on Parametric CAD (Siemens NX)
  • Knowledge in Teamcenter from Siemens
  • Knowledge in SAP
  • Knowledge in technical calcualtions
