Position: Mechanical Engineer (Offer Management)

Location: Chennai, India

Job Summary/Overview

The Mechanical Engineer (Offer Management) plays a key role supporting the offer
management team in Germany. He is responsible for the technical and economic evaluation of customer
enquiries and the preparation of competitive quotations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of quotation documents including technical specifications, calculations and delivery
    times
  • Analysis of customer enquiries with regard to technical feasibility and economic conditions
  • Coordination with internal departments such as design, purchasing, production and sales 
  • Providing technical advice to customers during the quotation phase
  • Identifying potential for optimization to improve competitiveness
  • Participating in contract negotiations and handovers to project management
  • Independent recognition of priorities and corresponding processing of customer requests.
  • Design 2D drawings and 3D models in Mechanical CAD (Siemens NX), that are aligned to the
    internal specifications, performance requirements and safety standards.
  • Ensuring needs-based communication in unclear situations
  • Report spent hours in SAP and Jira ticket system to ensure data quality

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • Experience with Product Design using Parametric CAD Software (Siemens NX) and Siemens
    Teamcenter PLM (Product Lifecycle Management).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where creativity, cooperation, and communication are
    key.
  • Ability to keep track and organize work from multiple jobs at once.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • Able to work within a global team in a remote working environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skill in German and English (Advanced)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical)
  • Experience in a similar role are welcome
  • Bilingual – German/English
  • Experience on Parametric CAD (Siemens NX)
  • Knowledge in Teamcenter from Siemens
  • Knowledge in SAP
  • Knowledge in technical calculations
