Job Summary/Overview

This position reports to the Senior Manager Software Development, Information Services and is a support function within the global SAP team.

The focus will be on the creation of RICEFs and configuration in SAP based on technical specifications provided by SAP Business Analysts or external consultants, using prevailing technologies and according to business and technical requirements. Senior Programmers also can be asked to lead projects or collaborate with team members during requirement gathering and determination of the best technical solution.

The position includes the design, development, modification, enhancement and implementation of software systems designed to support our business initiatives. Also part of the position is the  analysis of short dumps and errors and cooperation with other SAP Developers, SAP Business Analysts and the SAP Basis team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new functionality that can be tested and is performing with limited oversight and guidance following best practices and approved code patterns.
  • Identify solutions to errors identified, analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs
  • Contribute to technical requirements gathering and technical design documents
  • Collaborate with other team members to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation of changes to computer code, programs, and specifications
  • Design and coding of layouts for onscreen user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems
  • Review user and technical documentation written by others to confirm consistency with program operations
  • Coordination with other programmers, SAP Basis team and SAP Business analysts in regard to program revisions
  • Modification and maintenance of software programs written by others
  • Execute performance improvement on new and existing application code to enhance and improve program performance
  • Verify that legal, regulatory, process and security compliance is maintained
  • Leading projects in the programming area and taking lead role in complex developments, mentoring other team members

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in information technology or related field; minimum 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in SAP, Oracle or equivalent programming knowledge including RDBMS, SQL, Abap. Demonstrated knowledge of coding language and syntax, use of functions and object oriented patterns
  • Experience migration from SAP ECC6 to S/4 Hana is a plus
  • Business fluent English skills, further language skills a plus
