Job Summary/Overview

The Associate Engineer, Mechanical provides support to process and design both standard and engineer to order CMCO products. This position is responsible for engineering, designing, and processing orders and providing supporting documentation as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the organization by acting as a liaison between the customer and manufacturing.
  • Reviews customer specifications and requirements as quoted. Providing the best possible design and solution to meet the customer requirements.
  • Support manufacturing and assembly as required.
  • Support warranty and quality departments as required.
  • Support both sales and customers with technical product support.
  • Participate in design review meetings with customers, engineering, and sales
  • Create drawings and BOMs in a timely manner to meet department KPIs
  • Provide quality error free work.
  • When required must have the ability to work extended hours to complete projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, suppliers, customers, and other intercompany personnel.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebra, geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.  Apply the concepts of the metric system.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to grasp and understand mechanical and electrical concepts.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, CAD and AutoCAD.
  • A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate and knowledgeable of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Mechanical or related field
  • 1+ years of related experience and/or training
