Welder / Heat Treat

Job Summary/Overview

Requires the set-up and operation of all electric arc, spot welding, gas welding, and Induction Heat Treat equipment on all parts and tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work from blueprints, sketches, outlines, written and verbal instructions.   
  • Set up parts preparatory to welding. 

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and work orders. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must pass Certification Test according to Sections VII and IX of the ASME code.
  • Ability to lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. safely.
