Job Summary/Overview

The Director, Business Systems is responsible for managing the implementation and advancement of Columbus McKinnon’s Enterprise Business Systems with focus on the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.  Additionally, this position will be responsible for strategic direction, project management, leadership, and delivery of the global business systems team.  This position will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Information Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • roadmaps including the prioritization of new information and technology requirements
  • Participate in development and improvements to ongoing processes to support business systems in a global IS organization
  • Work with regional business leadership to drive process improvements, change management, problem resolution and priority alignment
  • Work with Management and global IS team on development and execution of Business System strategy that aligns with overall CMCO business and strategic objectives
  • Provide leadership and management oversight of Managers across global Business Systems team
  • Work collaboratively with Director, Business Systems in other region to manage and lead the global Business Systems team
  • Develops resource and resource development plans to support implementation of Business Systems strategy 
  • Build in-depth knowledge of business success drivers, industry trends, regulatory issues, and competitive marketplace to develop and deliver value added business solutions that have a measurable impact on results
  • Provide Management and Leadership of complex IS projects across multiple sites and geographies involving internal and external resources in a global manufacturing environment
  • Provide oversight and leadership for development of necessary deliverables based on requirements, projects, and support function

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • Experienced in managing large projects spanning 15 or more resources across multiple locations and countries
  • Excellent understanding of global systems from a business process, cross functional and integration points in a manufacturing company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact with all levels within an organization and across multiple geographies
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies to support simple and complex system implementations and rollouts utilizing core phases such as fit/gap analysis, blueprint, configuration, unit, integration, regression test cycles, training and production support
  • Experienced in developing Systems Strategy for global organizations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related field
  • 7+ years of working in global ERP Systems/Business Systems
  • 2+ years experience managing and leading diverse, multi-site teams
  • 25%+ Travel within Columbus McKinnon’s global footprint
