Job Summary

The Warehouse Team Leader supports the Shipping Supervisor and helps oversee the daily operations of the shipping and receiving team. This position is responsible for delegating work, coordinating warehouse activities, receiving and storing materials, preparing customer orders, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring products are packaged and shipped properly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the shipping and receiving team.
  • Delegate daily warehouse responsibilities and assignments.
  • Print orders for warehouse pickers and distribute them appropriately.
  • Receive materials, products, merchandise, and parts.
  • Store items in designated bins, shelves, or floor locations.
  • Mark or tag materials for identification.
  • Count, weigh, and identify incoming and outgoing items.
  • Verify materials against invoices, bills of lading, customer orders, and other documents.
  • Record quantities of materials received, stored, or distributed.
  • Fill orders and requisitions while maintaining accurate records.
  • Conduct inventory counts as required.
  • Document damaged or defective items and quantity or weight discrepancies.
  • Use SAP to enter records and process sales orders.
  • Build shipping crates as needed.
  • Package products in boxes, crates, cartons, or other containers to prevent damage.
  • Shrink-wrap, seal, label, and stencil packages as required.
  • Design and construct nonstandard containers for specialized products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous shipping experience required.
  • Ability to lead a team and delegate daily responsibilities.
  • Experience using SAP is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety policies, procedures, and other workplace documents.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, diagrammed, or scheduled instructions.
  • Ability to complete required warehouse forms and maintain accurate records.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify issues, collect information, and take appropriate action.

Shift Schedule and Overtime

  • First shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
  • Must be available for overtime during the last week of each month:
    • Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
    • Eight-hour shift on Saturday
